I write out of my belief that writing is healing, not merely letters set down on a page.

Arabic short stories and novels, carefully written to remain with the reader after the final page.

About the author

REEM KHAMEES

An Arab writer and novelist, I believe that every human being carries within them a story worthy of being told, and that writing is a bridge between paralyzing helplessness and the life-giving power of possibility. My journey with writing began in middle school. At the time, I did not know that I possessed this gift; it was simply a way to release what was inside me, and a quiet space I shared with my pen and paper. Over time, I discovered that storytelling is not merely a form of entertainment, but a means of survival. Since then, I have never stopped weaving together reality and dreams, memory and imagination. I have a deep passion for writing reflections, as they make me feel free. I write articles in which I express what lies within my heart, as well as short stories and full-length novels. I draw inspiration from the details of everyday life: the eyes of people passing by, the whispers of nature, forgotten alleyways, letters that were never sent, and places we pass through without truly noticing.
